MOU Partners

The Indo African Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Association of Nigerian Exporters had signed MoU in 2011 to facilitate trade & investment between Nigerian and Indian Businesses.

It covers
a)    Exchange of trade and investment related information.
b)    Exchange of publications and information of bilateral trade.
c)    Development of joint venture and technology transfers and investment.
d)    Any other form of bilateral trade co-operation as may be mutually agreed upon.
e)    Exchange of trade enquiries and business proposals for joint venture.
f)    Exchange of trade delegations.
g)    Promoting technology transfer, joint venture and investment.

So far, bilateral trade missions and events have taken place under the MoU. Some of these are:

Many Trade Delegations from India to Nigeria have witnessed signing of Joint Ventures.

The ANE-Trade Hub MoU signed on June 16, 2016 is focused on:

Promoting export businesses under Trade Hub value chains and facilitating access to Investment to expand exports

Promoting professional ethics and efficiency in export administration and practices among members of ANE

Collating and circulating export statistics and information of all kinds

Promoting standardization of export practices in Nigeria through customs documentation assistance to members

The Trade/AGOA, Value Chains, Capacity Building, Finance and Investment and Trade, Transport Enabling Environment Components of the Trade Hub project shall work in close collaboration with ANE for the implementation of this LOC.

The Trade Hub project shall provide technical support to ANE as may be mutually agreed by the Parties, for the implementation of activities under this LOC.

The parties may facilitate access to financing from development partners, private or public sector financiers or internal sources to one another in furtherance of the objectives of this LOC

ANE to provide database of ANE export agribusiness targeted value chains under Trade Hub and AGOA. Collaborate with Trade Hub to organize event to promote and develop export business in Nigeria

Publicize Trade Hub activities and services among members of ANE.

American Shea Butter Institute and Association of Nigerian Exporters MoU from 2007 is to achieve the following goals:

To provide appropriate interconnection between Nigerian and American organizations as reasonably certified, for the purpose of conducting collaborative research, product development, pre-market testing and commercialization programmes, technological transfer projects and market development

To promote collaboration between their constituent membership and associate institutions relating to the development and commercialization of technology, products and services

To promote visits and secondment of appropriate officials between the ASBI and ANE, and related organizations

To encourage the Partners of each Party to support their collaboration through sponsorship endeavours towards the realization of the programmes of this MOU

To promote advocacy and encourage government agencies including legislatures, educational institutions, trade and investment-related agencies, to advance friendly policies, assist in technology acquisition, identification, adaptation and, or adoption of best practice models, as well as new ideas

To apprise each other of their respective business ethics, practices and policies, as well as management and governance issues with respect to further develop shea butter technology, know-how and markets

To provide technical support to shea butter processors, exporters and importers for product development, fruit selection, storage, quality analysis, standards, packaging, certification and shipping procedures

To organize training programmes, conferences, workshops, exhibitions, trade fairs, as well as participate in relevant public events organized by other organizations

Under the MoU quite a number of collaborations have benefitted ANE members including attendance of the Annual International Shea Butter Convention (ISBC) organized by the ASBI in Atlanta.

  • Crop monitoring to ensure stronger crop protection and better yields
  • Better member management and effective capacity building activities
  • Better price realisation by managing and tracking the processing and value addition related activities
  • Supporting market linkage activities of the Farmer groups by helping them with IT solutions for bulk sales, Exports or Retail Sales
  • Broaden the market for the farmer's produce by linking them better to Exporters by demonstrating quality and traceability.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between GBOT (now BOURSE AFRICA)  and Association of Nigerian Exporters(ANE) duringAfrican Echoes”, the annual flagship conference held on 16th of October 2010. Under the MoU, ANE is to introduce the Exchange to financial associations, trade & investment associations, banks, market makers, clearing companies, finance & economy teams, fund houses, traders, exporters and government representatives in Nigeria.

That would enable the Exchange to offer its exchange platform to the Nigerian Financial Market and offer the members of ANE the opportunity to hedge their risks through trading on commodities and currency derivatives.

As a follow up ANE facilitated the visit of the Mauritius Exchange’s top level  delegation of three, including the then CEO to Nigeria for meetings with the Nigerian Central Bank Governor, the CEO of Abuja Securities & Commodity Exchange, DG of Security &Exchange Commission, and MD of NEPZA. The delegation had a stakeholders forum with members of the Market Dealers Association of Nigeria in their Secretariat in Victoria Island, Lagos, also attended by reps of seventeen money deposit banks.

In this decade, ANE is poised to facilitate sustainable export policies, export-oriented investment, products made from petroleum, service exports, skills development, export farming, export production villages, incubators, common facility centers, enterprise zones, free trade zones;

Commodity exchanges, warehousing, bonded terminals, permanent products display centers, and adequate promotion of Nigerian exportable products/services through Embassies, trade missions, exhibitions, trade fairs, etc


11th National Council on Commerce had approved Mandatory Registration of Exporters with ANE and Export Sub-Groups of other OPS Agencies to certify genuine exporters.

ANE is a financial membership organization open to companies and all export-related agencies (public and private) in diverse sectors:-
